Welcome to The Light Pink Room

After three coats of paint…Andrew has finished painting the nursery. I’m very happy with how it turned out. He did such an outstanding job. Andrew has been so amazing through this journey so far and I’m so lucky and thankful that he is my husband. He is also going to be the best daddy! I can’t wait to watch Andrew hold her for the first time; it brings tears to my eyes just thinking about it.

Congratulations Bethany and Josh!

We just found out that my best friend Bethany gave birth to her baby boy at 5:20 P.M. Hunter weighs 7 pounds 2 ounces and came out with brown curly hair just like his mommy! Andrew and I are so happy that everything went smoothly and that Hunter is just perfect. Congratulations!!!!

49ers Game

Here are two pictures of Andrew and I at the 49er game on Sunday, November 16th. My belly is at 22 weeks in this picture.

Andrew got us amazing seats but it ended up being about 85 degrees that day (yes I know, surprising for November). We were looking directly into the sun the entire game, so I was REALLY hot and exhausted…)
We are looking forward to taking our little baby girl to many sporting events and better yet watching her play sports, maybe volleyball like her mommy?!

22 Weeks

On Baby Center it says:

“At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.”

At 22 ½ weeks I’m definitely really starting to notice a difference in my belly. Now, my normal shirts are becoming increasingly tight and I’m finding that wearing maternity tops are way more comfortable. Last night my good friend Natalie from college was in town. We went out to an Italian dinner and it was so nice catching up with her. I treated myself to Fettuccini with prosciutto, mushrooms and green peas in a white wine cream sauce; it was so rich and delicious! I’m still craving frozen yogurt in the evenings…the people at the local frozen yogurt shop know me on a first name basis now. Hehee

Andrew is in the works of painting her room a really light pink color. He has done one coat and will finish the painting this weekend. Yesterday we got a call from Pottery Barn Kids that our crib is ready to be picked up. Andrew is looking forward to assembling the crib and getting it all set up for her! The rest of her furniture won’t arrive until February.

We hope that everyone is doing really well and getting excited for Turkey Day!

First Big Kick

On Monday night I was at my parent's house watching the show Dancing with the Stars with my mom. Our little girl started moving a little so I had my mom put her hand on my belly to see if she could feel the movement. All of a sudden she did a HUGE kick! My mom and I looked at each other , smiled, and couldn't believe it. It was the first time she really kicked hard. I think she wanted to say hi to her Granny or she was rocking out to the music from Dancing with the Stars. It was a really neat feeling to actually feel her move around in there. We love you baby girl and can't wait to meet you.

AFP Blood Test

We met with Dr. Barbie today and our appointment went really well! She gave us the results of the AFP blood test and it came back negative...which is really GOOD! For those of you who don't know, the amount of AFP in the blood of a pregnant woman can help see whether the baby may have such problems as spina bifida and anencephaly. An AFP test can also be done as part of a screening test to find other chromosomal problems, such as Down syndrome (trisomy 21) or Edwards syndrome (trisomy 18). So, Andrew and I are VERY pleased and relived with the results. THANK GOD!!!!
We are still on track for a March 22nd due date.

20 weeks

Hi Everyone,

We are now officially at the half way mark! Our baby weighs about 10 1/2 ounces now. She's also around 6 1/2 inches long from head to bottom and about 10 inches from head to heel —about the length of a banana. She's also swallowing more which is good for her digestive system.
I'm 20 weeks and I'm feeling really great. I'm really starting to feel "Butterfly-like" flicker movements in my belly, especially at night. Andrew and I have started cleaning out what will be the babies room and we couldn't be anymore excited to paint the room and get it all ready for her.

Attached is another picture of Mommy and Daddy all dressed up for Gillian and Blake's engagement/Halloween party. We decided to go as 80's aerobic and daddy sure loved every minute of it!!!!!
