We met with Dr. Barbie on Monday morning for our monthly checkup. Baby Pattisson still has a very strong and healthy heartbeat, which was 155 bpm. It’s always a joy to hear her little heart beating away!

I’m now 24 ½ weeks pregnant. On baby Center it says:

“Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts her at just over a pound. Since she’s almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), she cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but her body is filling out proportionally and she'll soon start to plump up. Her brain is also growing quickly now, and her taste buds are continuing to develop. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help her air sacs inflate once she hits the outside world. Her skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.”

Attached are two pictures of the start to baby Pattisson’s nursery. Andrew and I are very happy with how it is turning out. I would like to give Andrew a big “thanks” for all of his hard work setting up the furniture…he did such a great job!

During the day I still have a lot of energy and I’m still trying to work out a few days a week. It doesn’t feel comfortable to run or jog anymore, so I’m enjoying long walks or the elliptical. I’m still craving frozen yogurt; having at least one a day. Frozen yogurt is a good source of calcium right?! Hehe

My only complaint is that it’s getting more uncomfortable to sleep at night. I’m constantly up going to the bathroom and tossing and turning. I need to invest in a pregnancy pillow ASAP! Pregnancy pillows are supposed to be ideal for any woman that suffers from sleep problems during pregnancy, leg cramps, back pain or related conditions. I’m also having some back aches on the right side of my back right by my spine, so I’m thinking I’m a perfect candidate for the pregnancy pillow!

On an exciting note, Andrew and I are leaving for New York tomorrow morning. Andrew has never been to New York and I have always wanted to go during Christmas time. So, we decided to take a long weekend and enjoy the Holiday season, lights, and romance of the city (and of course the window displays and shopping)! We are VERY pleased to be getting away for a few days. This will be our last trip before our little baby girl enters the world so we are going to enjoy every minute of it!
